| 1. Order bricks from your local brick dealer. If one is not available, we will find one for you. The type of brick we prefer to letter is one that is rectangular (4"x8") or square (8"x8"). Larger sizes are possible but they must have straight edges and 90 degree angled corners. At Cumings Memorials, we offer a 17.5" x 17.5" x 1.5" granite tile that is used by most organizations for donors who give more than $1000.00. The granite tile is big enough to include a company or organization logo.
2. Make order forms that the community can fill out to order the bricks/tiles. The forms should include spaces for the donors to write what they want on the brick/tiles. (CLICK HERE FOR SAMPLE ORDER FORM) The 4x8 bricks can have up to three lines with 13 characters per line (including punctuation and spaces). The 8x8 bricks can have up to five lines with 13 characters per line. The granite tiles can include several lines and characters, we can handle requests on an individual bases.
3. Make a copy of every order you receive.
4. Send us the copies and keep the originals for yourself. Once we have received the copies, we will layout each brick on our computer and print a design proof for you to look over to make sure we have not spelled anything incorrectly and agree on the layout.
5. Proof read design proof. If changes need to be made, then simply make the desired changes on the sheet and return it to us. If all is correct, then simply return the proof back to us signed and dated.
6. Once all signed design proofs are received, we proceed to cut the lettering into the brick/tiles. After we complete the lettering, we will call the designated liaison to notify him/her that we are finished and the bricks are ready to be picked up.
7. Cumings Memorials will prepare a bill for the bricks that have been completed up to that date. |
